- Newley Designed "Tripled Support" 4R100 Center Support. Utilized the new factory ball bearing, along with a Machined 1 piece Bushing that adds additional support to the hub, Intermediate shaft, and center support. Made From 954 Bronze. The Strongest bushing material on the market.
- Indestructible 4R100 low reverse hub. A custom-designed component meticulously machine and TIG welded to withstand extreme usage and high horsepower demands. Stock low reverse hubs are susceptible to cracking under strenuous conditions such as boost launches, heavy hauling, and drag racing. At Tiger Transmission, we've engineered a permanent solution to fortify this vulnerable aspect. Compare our custom hub to the stock version in the provided images to witness the difference.
- Rollerized (Steel) rear planet. STEEL and CAST 6 pinion planets are commonly found in the 4R100 transmission. We use STEEL planets only, much stronger. Additionally, we've eliminated the requirement for thrust washers on either side of the 6-pinion rear planetary gear and meticulously machined each side to accommodate GM Bearings.
- Forward Planet (5R110W UPGRADE). The strongest 6 pinion forward planet for the 4R100 is actually out of an early 5R110W Transmission. Its all Steel and can take some serious abuse. much stronger than to stock 4R100 Forward Planet.
- Forward Hub (Bushing Upgrade). The original 4R100 forward hub was engineered without a bushing, resulting in direct metal-to-metal contact with the forward planet. This friction generates excessive heat and wear on both the hub and the planet. Our solution involves precision machining to install a custom bushing within the forward hub. This provides crucial support to the forward planet while mitigating the heat and wear issues associated with metal-to-metal contact.
- Coast Clutch Drum Reinforcement. In many 4R100 units, a common issue is a stripped coast clutch drum, which tends to occur at the hub and gear interface. To address this vulnerability, we employ TIG welding to create a seamless, solid, one-piece heavy-duty drum. This enhancement ensures exceptional durability and reliability.
- Additional Clutches. Our approach involves precision machining of the pressure plates within each clutch pack for the 4R100 Transmission, resulting in the inclusion of more clutches compared to the stock configuration. This modification significantly boosts clamping power while reducing slippage. Furthermore, we utilize GPZ Clutches, known for their superior holding power, to further enhance performance.
